Keith froze, his eyes wide in shock. “You‘ re out of your mind! I’m not choosing between them!” He stepped forward, trying to stop them. “Let both of them go and take me instead!”
But the leader only shook his head again. “That’s not how this works, Keith. You choose. One will be saved. The other… will die.”
Eden‘ s heart dropped. This couldn’t be happening. “Don‘ t listen to him, Keith!” she shouted. She didn’t want him to make this impossible choice.
But then Georgia spoke up, her voice softer than Eden expected. “Pick Eden,” she said, her tone steady. “Let me go. Save her.”
Keith’s eyes widened in shock. “No, Georgia! Don’t say that!”
Georgia gave her a sad smile. “I’m not well, Keith. I can’t do much anymore.

Eden have so much more to live for. Just save her.”
Keith stood there, speechless, his chest heaving. He looked at Georgia, then at Eden, struggling with the choice. The weight of it was crushing. He couldn’t choose. How could he choose?
Eden felt the tears welling up in her eyes, but she held them back. She couldn’t fall apart now. Not with everything on the line.
Keith stood frozen, unsure of what to do. This was too much for him to handle. He wanted to fix everything, but it felt impossible.
The leader’s voice echoed in the cold, empty warehouse, and it made everything feel so much worse. “Your time is ticking, Keith. Who are you going to choose between these two women?” His voice was smug, as if he was enjoying every second of this terrible situation.
Keith just stood there, frozen. His eyes kept

flicking between Eden and Georgia, both of them chained up in front of him. His face looked strained, like he didn’t know what to do, like he didn’t want to make this decision. But there was no escaping it now. He had to choose.
Eden could feel her heart pounding in her chest, like it was about to break through her ribs. She knew what was coming. She had already seen the way Keith looked at Georgia, the way his eyes softened when he saw her. It wasn‘ t hard to guess that he still loved her, that he still had feelings for the woman who had been his first love.
Keith finally looked at Eden, and his face. twisted with guilt. “I’m sorry, Eden,” he said, his voice cracking. “But I’m picking Georgia.”
Eden didn’t even feel surprised. She knew. She had always known. Keith still loved Georgia, and no matter how much she had hoped that the pregnancy might change things, it hadn‘ t. He had made his

choice.
The leader of the men sneered, “Well, Mr. Keith, you pick your lover over your wife… How sad it is.” His voice dripped with sarcasm, and Eden could barely hear him over the ringing in her ears.
Her heart felt heavy, like it was being squeezed by something tight and
unrelenting. She wanted to scream, but she couldn’t. What was the point? Keith had made his choice. He had picked Georgia, and there was nothing left for Eden.
Then, just as the weight of everything was starting to crush her, the sound of sirens interrupted the silence. The warehouse doors suddenly slammed open, and police. officers rushed inside. They were shouting commands, their guns raised. It was all happening so fast, and Eden barely understood what was going on.
Becca appeared, running toward Eden, looking frantic. Eden‘ s eyes widened in confusion. How did she get here? How did

she even know where they were?
Becca had followed her. She had seen Eden leave, and she had suspected something wasn‘ t right. She noticed that the taxi Eden had gotten into had taken a different route, and Becca had followed it, worried. Then, she had called 911 and managed to snap a picture of the taxi‘ s license plate. That’s how the police had found them.
The officers quickly moved in and started unchaining Eden and Georgia, taking control of the situation. Becca reached Eden first, her arms wrapping around her in a tight hug. “Are you okay?” Becca asked, voice shaking with worry.
Eden nodded weakly, still trying to process everything that had happened. She was in shock, her body trembling. She had been saved, but at what cost? Keith had chosen Georgia. He had picked her over his wife, over their future.
Before she could even think about what to

You think you‘ re just going to leave like this?” He laughed, his voice cold and mocking. He took a step forward, raising his gun and pointing it directly at Eden.
Becca screamed, “No!” but it was too late. The leader fired.
The bullet struck Eden right in the stomach, where the baby was. She gasped, pain searing through her entire body. The sharp, burning pain made it hard to breathe, and she instinctively clutched her belly. She could feel everything shifting inside her, like the life inside her was being ripped away. She could barely stand as her legs buckled beneath her.
Her body crumpled to the ground, and she tried to keep her breath steady, but it was so hard. Everything felt blurry, and she could feel herself slipping away. She heard Becca calling her name, but it sounded so far away. The world around her was fading fast, and she couldn’t hold on.
The pain was unbearable. She could barely

air, her body too weak to fight anymore.
The darkness took over, and everything went black.
