My husband is in the military, so he’s away most of the year. I didn’t want to worry him,
so I decided to handle this myself first.
I saved the chat history where Tiffany’s mom
accused Lily of stealing.
But I needed more solid evidence before
going to the police.
The next day, after dropping Lily off, I went to
see the teacher, Mrs. Johnson.
As soon as I explained what happened, she
frowned.
“Mrs. Baker, I was actually going to ask you

to come in today. After yesterday, I asked
some of the other kids what happened, and they said that Lily was the one who started it. Tiffany is a good kid; she wouldn’t bully
anyone. And Lily seems to do stuff like that

“I think you should apologize and pay for any
damages”
I was so mad, I could barely see straight.
“I believe all of the school is covered by security cameras, right? Can I check the footage?”

Mrs. Johnson’s face went pale.
“Mrs. Baker, why are you acting like I’m
trying to accuse your daughter?!”
“Well, if you’re not, then why are you so
stressed? You’re turning red. You should
watch your blood pressure.”
“How dare you curse me!”
“Woah there. I am just showing some
concern, not casting a curse! If I’m cursing,
trust me, I would wish you have an accident,
choke on food, trip and fall, and go visit your
ancestors in the grave often. Now, is that a
proper curse?”
I felt much better after that.

talk to the principal, and if he can’t handle it,
to the school board. I have all day.”

“And if I do, I’m sure I’ll say something about someone getting gifts from parents when the school year started. Do you think that would be a big deal?”
