“Yes. This is it,” I said.
William hesitated.
When the dealer gave me the cards, he
flipped one.
I could get another card.
But I didn’t.
William had three Kings.
Even if I had three 6’s, I couldn’t beat him.
He smiled. “I’m in!”
The owner said, “William, your neighborhood
is worth $700,000.”
“Then give him another $500,000!”
“I don’t believe you can beat me!” I shouted.
“I’ll bet my eyes, it’ll add another 100K!”
“In!”
“My liver, $300K!”
“In!”
“My mom’s kidney, $1.5M!” I said.
“In!”
There were all sorts of notes on the table.
“Alright! This is it!”
I flipped my cards, three 6’s.
“Three of a kind! You can’t beat me!”
William said, “My family is yours! What will I
get?”
“J, Q, K,” I said. “I win!”

William’s face froze.
He looked at the cards.
“No way! I had three K’s!”
He stood on the table and tried to hit me.
The musclehead knocked him down.
“Too many eyes are on you,” the owner said. “Are you trying to cheat?”
He understood. “You set me up! You set me
up!”
He tried to flip the table, but he couldn’t.
“You bet. You lose!” the owner said.
Two men grabbed him.
“Let’s add this all up.”
