It must have been Brittany.
She studied media. The teacher in her class
was a famous influencer, who had her
students create media accounts.
Brittany looked pretty, so she showed up on
her classmate’s videos, she was named “the
purest girl on campus“.
Most of the reposting accounts belonged to
Brittany’s classmates.
My lawyer got excited, offering to sue.
I told him, “No, let it play out.”
Two days later, I got a threatening package.
L
I kept it as evidence and gave it to my lawyer.
Brittany’s classmates were scared.
They quickly posted apologies, and the
original video was deleted.
Still, there were people cursing me,
Saying I was spending money to shut them
- up.
That night, an influencer posted, saying they
were my friend, and the story isn’t how it
seems.
They revealed the truth of Karen,
How she interfered with my parent’s
marriage, how she sold her tears with her
daughter.
It said I lived a horrible life after being kicked
out. How I had to work and pick garbage to
pay for tuition.
The Internet exploded. Many of Brittany’s high
school classmates posted about how she
bullied a girl to suicide.
Brittany went from “pure” to being hated by
everyone.
At the same time, I sent a lawyer letter, suing
Brittany for slander.
The next day, Karen showed up.
She was pregnant and started to apologize.
く
“Stacy, Brittany did the wrong thing. But she
didn’t mean it, she is young, doesn’t
understand what happened.”
I didn’t care. “Twenty–one is young? She can
have a kid.”
Karen changed her expression, making herself
appear helpless. “Stacy, what do you want me
to do? How can you forgive us?”
I was familiar with the look. Every time she
showed it, Dad would abandon us.
I thought of all my mom’s suffering, and my
expression twisted.
“I want to be at peace? Okay, kneel in front
of Mom’s grave, say you’re sorry, and I’ll drop
the suit.”
く
Karen looked pale.
“Stacy, you…”
“Or no deal!” Brittany was more valuable to
her so Karen said yes.
We agreed to meet in three days at Mom’s
grave.
Three days later, I was dragged into the
bushes and beaten up.
The guys threatened, “If you mess with
Brittany again, it won’t just be a beating.”
After they left, I climbed out of the bushes.
I called the police.
く
Brittany was dumb, and so were her friends.
There were security cameras everywhere.
While I was in the hospital, the police gave
me the message.
The two guys were dumb and easily gave
everything away.
They knew Brittany, and she cried to them,
saying how evil I was.
They thought they were doing the right thing.
“Right thing? By getting yourselves arrested?”
I said.
I refused to drop the case.
L
While I was in the hospital, their families
visited me.
They were holding gifts and apologizing.
These people were desperate.
“We hope you can forgive our son. Once he
gets out, he’ll kneel and apologize to you.”
“don’t want that.” I cried. Saying how evil
Brittany was.
They left and went to Karen and Brittany.
“They won’t leave the house.” My lawyer said.
“They get cursed whenever they go out. They
have so much rage.”
I could imagine Karen. Crying while trying to
<
keep up an image.
The lawyer asked if I would appeal the
lawsuit.
I said, “Of course. I’m not getting hit for free.”
The two guys apologized to me while being
pressured.
I took a bit of money, nothing special.
It was a painful hit to average families.
Karen kept calling me, wanting to talk about
dropping the case.
I blocked her phone number.
I could guess everything that had happened.
Karen said yes, but went back on her word.
Brittany found out, so she got the guys to
attack me.
I didn’t want to get beat up again.
I saw Karen five months later.
I had just graduated from college and was
met by a call from the advisor.
She said someone claiming to be my aunt
was waiting for me.
I saw Karen, she dropped to her knees.
“Stacy, please help my son.”
People were staring, but I didn’t care. I let her
kneel.
