Leaving the company, I felt an rare sense of satisfaction.
Just thinking about Lucas’s expression when he had to fire Jasmine in front of me made me want to laugh.
Although I knew Lucas would probably arrange another job for Jasmine.
But as long as it wasn’t right under my nose, I couldn’t be bothered to care.
The days passed quickly when I didn’t have to work.
After bumming around at home for a few days, I decided to go traveling.
I remembered I had written all my previous travel plans in a notebook.
But after searching my whole house, I still couldn’t find my notebook.
Could it be at Lucas’s place?
Thinking of this gave me a headache.
That notebook not only had my carefully made travel plans, but also some photos from my previous trips.
I had tucked them inside.
It held a lot of sentimental value for me.
I had to go see if I could get it back.
The next day, I estimated Lucas would have gone to work by now and went to his house.
Lucas hadn’t changed the passcode yet, so I went straight in.
But as soon as I entered, I froze.
If I hadn’t entered the passcode myself, I would have thought I went to the wrong place.
It was so unfamiliar.
The overall layout of the rooms hadn’t changed, but all the little details were different.
The room no longer looked like how I remembered it.
I didn’t care about these things.
But this way, where was I supposed to look for my stuff?
Frowning, I decided to search around first.
But before I could start, I saw Jasmine.
10:26 PM
“What are you doing here?” Jasmine questioned me directly when she saw me.
I was stunned too.
What I was doing wasn’t exactly ethical, and now I had been caught by Jasmine.
It was a bit awkward.
“You’re not regretting it and wanting to get back together with Lucas, are you?”
“I’m telling you it’s impossible. Lucas is my boyfriend now!”
Jasmine’s nervous and defensive posture made me roll my eyes.
“What are you thinking? I have no intention of getting back together with trash.”
I hadn’t expected Jasmine to move in after just a few days. I felt annoyed.
How was I supposed to find my things now?
“I didn’t come here for anything else. I just left some things here.”
Since Jasmine had moved in, she must know where my things went.
Sure enough.
“Things, huh…” Jasmine suddenly smiled.
“I threw all your things away!”
“If you want to find them, go look in the trash!”
I pressed my lips together tightly. The moment I saw Jasmine, I had a feeling my trip today would be wasted.
Sure enough.
Forget it.
I turned to leave, but couldn’t help adding one last comment.
“You think Lucas is some kind of good guy?”
“Half the credit for establishing his company goes to me. If he could betray me, he can certainly betray you too.”
As soon as I said this, I regretted it.
“I suddenly forgot, you’re not a good person either.”
“Looks like you two are truly a match made in heaven!”
After saying all this, I wanted to leave.
I didn’t want to have any more entanglements with them.
But suddenly I heard Jasmine shout behind me.
“What right do you have to judge us? You think no one knows about what happened between you and your stepfather?”
