After that, everyone avoided Crystal like the
plague.
She rubbed everyone the wrong way.
“She’s always crying. You’d think someone
was beating her up. It’s disgusting.”
“Right? She wasted so much time. I didn’t
even get to go to the bathroom before the
bell rang. So annoying.”
“When we pick seats this afternoon, I’m not
sitting anywhere near her. She’s gonna ruin
my vibe.”
Everyone was talking about Crystal.
When she overheard them, she ran to the
teacher and complained.
That might have worked at a normal school,
but this was a private school.
This was practically begging for more abuse.
“Crystal’s situation is a little different, so I
hope everyone will be understanding.”
“Is there anyone in the class who would be
willing to sit with her? She’s shy, so if
someone could keep her company, I’m sure
she’ll get used to things pretty quickly.”
<
No one raised their hand.
The classroom filled with laughter.
The teacher coughed lightly. “Well then,
Crystal, who would you like to sit with?”
Crystal wasn’t shy anymore.
She pointed to Alex and said, “I want to sit
with Alex.”
The way she said his name was like they were
close.
The boys started to whistle, and the girls
rolled their eyes.
く
The teacher nodded. “Okay, Alex, you can sit
with Crystal from now on. Take good care of
her.”
Alex stood up to refuse. “Sorry, ma’am, I’m
allergic to tears.”

The classroom went silent, then exploded
with laughter.
I couldn’t help but smirk.
That was a smooth way to shut her down.
The teacher frowned a little, knowing he was
being rejected, but since Alex was practically
royalty, no one dared to mess with him.
The teacher ended up seating her with
another, less popular, girl.
After class, Crystal went straight for Alex.
She gave him a pathetic look and said, “Alex,
I didn’t mean to put you on the spot back
there. It’s just that you seem so nice, like I’ve
met you before.”
No wonder my idiot brother fell for her.
She knew how to play the game.
She started out strong, appealing to the guy’s
ego, then dropped the act and played the
“poor me” card.
L
Any other guy would have been putty in her
hands.
Too bad she messed with someone as smart
as Alex.
“You a carrier pigeon? All you do is coo,” he
said with a smirk.
Crystal’s eyes welled up with tears.
She bit her lip. “Did I do something wrong?
Did someone say something about me? I
know I’m not from a wealthy family, and
people look down on me, but I just want to
make friends. I don’t want to be lonely.”
Alex snorted. “Then why don’t you find some
girl friends?”
She blurted out, “Girls are too much drama.
I’d rather hang out with guys. They’re not
scheming, and they’re just easier to be
around.”
