Jacob shook his head, continuing to explain, “We’re not divorced. I didn’t sign the divorce agreement. You‘ re still my wife. As for Daisy, I can explain. What I had with her was just a fleeting attraction. But I promise, the one I’ve always loved is you, and my love for you has never wavered.”

Before we began climbing the snow mountain, he meticulously checked. everyone’s safety gear. When it was my turn, he gave me a deep, lingering look.

“I’m fine, just a bit of pain in my back. It’ll probably go away soon.”
But Peter frowned and said sternly, “No, we need to get you checked at the hospital. Some internal injuries aren’t immediately noticeable.”
